A Painting of Mount Yamnuska with Aurora
48″ x 48″ 121 cm x 121 cm Acrylic on canvas
My Painting of Mount Yamnuska and Aurora in the Canadian Rockies, showing the Mountain at night with Aurora Borealis. This is the second Of my Mount Yamnuska paintings, the other being Where Landscapes Collide. Because of where this mountain is situated you can actually be far enough away to see the northern lights from a longer perspective, a opposed to looking up, which is often the case when you view the northern lights in the mountains. Not as abstract as many of my later paintings, but I just wanted to focus on the situation and not on the interaction of the constructive elements of the scene.
The image above shows the painting of Mount Yamnuska on a standard-height, 8-foot wall to give you perspective on the size. If you click on the painting, it will open a link that will allow you to zoom in closer to the painting.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my work!
