A Painting of Mount Louis in Banff National Park

Mount Louis in the Canadian Rockies
My Painting of Mount Louis at Sunset shows the mountain from the Southeast. Mount Louis is located near the Banff townsite in Banff National Park. It is a perfect subject for my style of painting, which utilizes straight lines. Its steep bedding planes projecting skyward remind me of a cathedral. Although it is not as abstract as some of my later work, it is moving in that direction.
The image above shows the Painting of Mount Louis at Sunset on a standard-height, 8-foot wall to give you perspective on the size. If you click on the painting, it will open a link that will allow you to zoom in closer to the painting. My paintings are all acrylic on canvas with a 1.5 “gallery” profile frame. All the paintings come without decorative frames and can readily be displayed without a frame or by adding one to suit your taste.
