Mountains and the Moon painting
Acrylic on canvas 40″ x 30″ 102 cm x 76 cm
Initially this began as a painting of Howse Peak; however the geometry and the contrast kept pushing me further into abstraction and it lost most of it’s topographical references as I kept painting. The end result was more of a study in abstract form and the glow of moonlight on the mountains than a portrait of any specific place. I have two other paintings of Howse Peak listed on the gallery page.
The image above shows the Mountains and the moon painting on a standard-height, 8-foot wall to give you perspective on the size. If you click on the painting, it will open a link that will allow you to zoom in closer to the painting.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my work!
