Mount Assinibloine in the Canadian Rockies

My Painting of Mount Assiniboine in the Canadian Rockies shows the mountain from the Northheast. Mount Assiniboine is located in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park in British Columbia, near Banff National Park. Whenever I think of Mount Assiniboine, the feature that I remember the most, is the way the East face catches the sun in the morning, often causing the face to glow red/orange for a short time. I climbed this mountain when I was very young and I never forgot what an isolated summit it was; leading me to paint the form you see with exaggerated perspective in relation to its surroundings.

The image above shows the Painting of Mount Louis at Sunset on a standard-height, 8-foot wall to give you perspective on the size. If you click on the painting, it will open a link that will allow you to zoom in closer to the painting. My paintings are all acrylic on canvas with a 1.5 “gallery” profile frame. All the paintings come without decorative frames and can readily be displayed without a frame or by adding one to suit your taste.
