Mount Robson in the Canadian Rockies
My Painting of Mount Robson shows the mountain from the Northwest from around Berg Lake. Mount Robson is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, and is located West of the Jasper town site in Mount Robson Provincial Park. One of the interesting things about Mount Robson is that the mountain looks completely different when viewed from different aspects so as you walk around it on the Berg Lake Trail. It reveals itself in different ways. Saving the most spectacular views for the end of the hike up to the lake! The collection of my photographs below are from images collected from the many trips I have made to this mountain over the years. The painting is not based on any one image specifically, however the colour of that aspect of the mountain in the setting sun is something that stands out to me. I also tend to exaggerate the climbable features of mountains in my work because of my background as a climber. Showing from left to right, The Fuher Ridge, The North Face, The Emperor Face and then the Emperor Ridge.
